On November 27, 2025, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed a European Parliament resolution supporting efforts to end the civil war in Sudan. Her Excellency Lana Nusseibeh, Minister of State and Envoy to the EU, emphasized that a unified regional and international effort is essential to ending the atrocities. She noted the Parliament's motion endorsed the 'Quad' as the primary mediation format, whose joint statement represents a historic step toward ending the fighting, outlining a realistic roadmap beginning with a humanitarian truce and transitioning to civilian rule independent of the warring parties.
The UAE reaffirmed its call for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire and unfettered humanitarian access across Sudan, highlighting its provision of USD 784 million in assistance, making it the second-largest donor since the conflict began and the largest donor for 2025.
