Abu Dhabi Government Partners with Microsoft to Build Sovereign Cloud Platform, Advancing Digital Government and AI Applications

The Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi announced on March 18 that it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Microsoft and Core42 to jointly develop a unified sovereign cloud platform for the government. The platform will support the operation of government digital services and artificial intelligence systems.

According to official disclosures, the platform will facilitate the digital transformation of various Abu Dhabi government departments and is expected to handle over 11 million government digital interactions daily. The sovereign cloud platform is designed to ensure data security and compliance, meeting the government's needs in digital governance and AI applications.

This collaboration is seen as a significant step forward in national-level digital infrastructure and AI governance within the Middle East. It also reflects the deepening cooperation model between governments and international technology companies in the field of artificial intelligence.
