Las Vegas, April 22, 2026 — Google introduced Gemini Enterprise at its annual cloud conference and placed AI agents at the center of its enterprise monetization strategy. The company said the experimental phase of generative AI is over and enterprise customers are moving into scaled deployment.

Gemini Enterprise integrates an upgraded Vertex AI platform, allowing businesses to build and manage custom AI agents. These agents can assist with customer service, data analysis, code development and internal workflow automation.

Google also emphasized safety, governance and oversight mechanisms to address enterprise concerns about uncontrolled AI-agent risks. As AI systems begin executing tasks autonomously, companies are raising requirements for permissions, auditing and data protection.

The launch shows Google wants to combine Search, cloud computing, TPU chips and Gemini models into a complete enterprise AI ecosystem to compete with Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic.
